Fall at Charity Event

George, who is 80 years old, received a settlement payment of just under £37,000 when he fell off a stage while giving a charity talk.

The event was being held in a darkened marquee and George was on a stage that was cordoned off on three sides. George fell off the uncordoned side because due to poor lighting he did not realize there was no preventative cordon.

He injured his back to the point that he had to give up his hobby of golf and suffered vastly reduced mobility. Liability was admitted but causation in issue and required more than one orthopaedic report.
